Self assessment test

Test yourself - then discuss your results with your doctor.

There is no substitute for an open discussion with your doctor about ED. This self assessment test may help you start the conversation with your doctor, and also give you some questions to ask. Your results here will give your doctor a better idea of what you have been experiencing and how you feel about it.

This quiz is not intended to substitute for a proper examination including medical history, and does not take account of specific individual factors that influence your life.

Symptom checker*

Each question has several responses, and you should choose the one that best describes your own situation.

  1. How often were you able to get an erection during sexual activity?
  2. When you had erections with sexual stimulation, how often were your erections hard enough for penetration (entering your partner)?
  3. When you attempted intercourse, how often were you able to penetrate (enter) your partner?
  4. During sexual intercourse, how often were you able to maintain your erections after you had penetrated (entered) your partner?
  5. During sexual intercourse, how difficult was it to maintain your erection to completion of intercourse?

Your answer: Moderate

  • Normal function
  • Mild
  • Moderate
  • Severe

What do your test results mean?

Your answers on this test show that you may have moderate erectile dysfunction. The good news is that 95% of all erectile dysfunction causes can be treated. If your results show that there is a chance you may have erectile dysfunction, you should speak to your doctor.

Once you have completed your self assessment test, it can be a good idea to make an appointment with your doctor and discuss the results.

Even if you are experiencing difficulties with your erections, but they don’t concern you, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional so that any underlying cause of the problem can be identified.
